A Staircase Made Into the View

In most homes a staircase is something you walk around. Here it sits inside a tall living room, with open wooden steps and a slim black railing.

Open steps are hard to build. There is no back panel to cover an error, so every step must be exactly the same and dead level.

Storage Walls, Fluted Panels and Fin Screens

The living area is lined with full-height shelving in two-tone timber and dark grey, with display niches and a hanging swing chair. Wooden fin screens split the living area from the passage without closing it off.

Bedrooms use fluted panelling behind the beds, cove-lit false ceilings, sliding wardrobes and built-in study counters. The TV wall is finished in a large stone-look panel.
